Committee Reports

  • Cemeteries – Discussion on the U Line Cemetery being on Crown Land and placement of a sign. It was felt that wouldn’t be a problem. A cost from Gord Hawdon for a sign the same as Tenby Bay and Mountain Maple will determined by Bernie.

Bernie has access to the Holy Trinity files and is waiting on a few corrections and the map will be complete and the book updated. Tenby Bay is up to date except for 3 pictures and Mountain Maple needs a correction to the map. St. Joseph and Grace United Cemeteries have to be updated.

  • Fundraisers – nothing new to report at this time.

  • Historical signs – Bernie will update our list of 80 designated sites for future discussion on additional signs.

  • Interviews – discussion continued on the method to get copies to interviewees. May by a project for future to try and transcribe our interviews.

  • News Clippings – Bernie will check with Paulette to see if she has continued typing from Alice’s binders. We will get more articles for availability.

Open Forum

  • Bernie brought copies of framed island maps that could possibly be a future fund raiser. Would have to be by order, not a mass production. Jason took pictures to check on having these done.

Next meeting – out next meeting will be February 18 2025 at the Library.

 Meeting adjourned at 2:53 pm.

NOTE:  Sherrie Gladue has returned the borrowed Richards Landing Marina & general folder re new sign for waterfront.
