 Committee Reports

Cemeteries: Bernie contacted Gord Hawdon and he has agreed to do a sign for the U Line cemetery at a cost of $100. We will contact Kevin Ibbitson to obtain a post for the placement. Voted on...Passed

Historical Signs – Will will take care of the spring checkup of the signs. Perry will contact the public school to arrange to have our map printed. Hopefully at our next meeting we will have a list available to check for additional signs to place.

Interviews – a brief discussion was held but nothing new as we are unsure of a suitable medium to store the interviews.

News Clippings:       Paul feels the Island Clippings still has a few articles that haven’t been printed yet.  He will also forward them the article on the K Line Dock is they are interested. We feel any of Alice’s articles we wanted to do have been done. We will check our files for more articles.

 Members Open Forum:

Bernie brought a few inquiries received by email to discuss.

  1. Stella Trainor requested info on how we put together our Days of Yesteryear. I sent her costs, who printed it and the form used for submission.
  2. The new owners of the Tenby Bay School had inquired as to the log cabin that belonged to the Ibbitson family being the oldest structure on the island and wondered if we had pictures. After a discussion we decided it was not the oldest but had no consensus on what building would be.
  3. A James Bigwood requested info on Rev. Francis Bloodgood, his grandfather who owned a cottage at Llewellyn Beach. Bernie will contact Pat Fleming for info.

Next meeting April 15 2025 at the St. Joseph Township Public Library.

Meeting Adjourned 3:13 pm
