 Committee Reports

Fundraisers – Maps – one further map has been sold. Should have 12 on hand and 6 tubes?

 Recipe Books – Kentvale and Moose Sweats restocked, have 6 on hand

 Historical Signs – Still no response from Twp of Jocelyn regarding our sign at the U Line Cemetery or our request to place a plaque for Alice Ward.  Bernie will request a response.

  • Plaque for Alice – Debby attended at Lock City Monuments. Craig Cartmill suggested a ¾” granite 12 x 18, etched grey on black. The granite would cost approximately $75 and the etching $300 - $400.  In an effort to keep the cost local, this was recommended.  If the pudding stone at the Jocelyn school house is big enough, perhaps it could be attached. An email has also been sent to past volunteers who worked with Alice on Jocelyn Recreation, to donate.
  • It was discussed getting an updated map from St. Joseph Township prior to printing, and Perry will check on this. (Perry not at meeting)

 Cemeteries – query from Twp of Hilton regarding a Herbert Vincent / Campbell buried in Grace United Cemetery. He was possibly a Hilton storekeeper at one time. No one was familiar with this person.

 Members Open Forum: - Roy brought a bracelet that was his Dad’s from the war.  It was made from brass pieces with one for each location they had been – eg. Ita  ly 1945;

  • Steve had sent a query wondering how Sapper Island got its name;
  • Aaron reported he is working on writing historical songs – eg. Lime Island, with Fred Belleau of Garden River.

 Next meeting: Twp of St Joseph Public Library Feb. 17, 2026 2:00 pm.
